Tenure-track faculty appointment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Elmhurst College Deicke Center for Nursing Education invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in the baccalaureate nursing program.  The position is a nine-month, full-time position that includes teaching in the undergraduate program according to background and field of expertise, clinical instruction, scholarship, and service.
Elmhurst College is a private, comprehensive college with 22 academic departments and 3000 students, offering baccalaureate and master’s degrees in both liberal studies and professional disciplines.  Located in suburban Chicago, the College is recognized for its excellence in teaching.  The U.S. News and World Report’s 2008 survey of "America's Best Colleges" places Elmhurst in the top tier of Midwest colleges and universities with master’s programs. The Deicke Center for Nursing Education offers a prelicensure, Bachelor of Science (BS) degree; and a degree-completion option, and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree.  Elmhurst College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission - North Central Association. The Deicke Center is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and has an enrollment of approximately 290 students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate for this position will have an earned doctorate, master’s degree in nursing, teaching experience at the baccalaureate level, and eligibility for professional nurse licensure in the State of Illinois.  Rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.  The review of applications will begin March 3, 2008 and continue until the position is filled.  The position begins August 2008.
