POSITION:

Instructor, Nursing Education; Joliet Junior College; Evening Program (Tenure Track)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct classes in nursing theory and practicum courses offered through the Department of Nursing Education as it relates to Obstetrical Nursing. May also conduct classes related to Medical-Surgical Nursing.
2. Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise the nursing curriculum in conjunction with other faculty members within the department in order to continue to achieve the educational aims of the nursing program while keeping abreast of current educational models and nursing concepts.
3. Participate actively in the activities of the total faculty of the college in ways that benefit the college, the unit in nursing, students within the nursing programs and the faculty members.
4. Have and maintain a thorough knowledge of the subject matter necessary to the assigned course load, and keep informed of current trends in the field of nursing and health care.
5. Participate in the design and teaching of additional nursing and health related courses as needed.
6. Position is subject to all terms and provisions of the Joliet Junior College faculty contract.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master's Degree with a major in Nursing required.
2. Recent work experience in obstetrical area required.
3. Current Illinois Licensure as R.N.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred.
Teaching experience in nursing preferred.
