POSITION:

Learning Specialist, part-time
The University of St. Francis, a Catholic, Franciscan institution in Joliet, Illinois, invites applications for a Learning Specialist part-time, 20 hours per week, to immediately.
Grant funded position through May 28, 2010. Twenty hours per week.  Position duties and responsibilities require a flexible schedule that may include some evening and occasional weekend work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides academic support to nursing students; develops and offers learning strategies and review sessions; develops teaching and comprehension tools; and facilitates a summer boot camp for at-risk nursing students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s in education, nursing, science or related field; 2 years experience in a learning assistance center or teaching/academic advising at the secondary or post-secondary level; strong communication and computer skills; a willingness to support the Catholic and Franciscan values of the university.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree in education, nursing, science or related field; teaching experience; experience teaching/tutoring both adult and traditional-age students; nursing or science background a plus.
