POSITION:

LPN/CNA Nursing Instructor
This is a full-time, tenure-track position in LPN/CNA instruction.  Position begins in August 2009.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Providing clinical & classroom instruction in LPN & CNA to undergraduate students (BHC is a community college). Position will be primarily located at East Campus in Galva, Illinois but will have additional departmental responsibilities at the Quad-Cities Campus in Moline, Illinois.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Instructor must meet Illinois requirements for LPN and CNA.

For LPN: The requirements are to have a bachelor's degree with a major in nursing combined with two years successful practice as a registered nurse within the past three years. Teaching experience is preferred. Current Illinois Registered Nurse license is required.
For CNA: Registered Nurse with current Illinois nursing license required. One year of clinical experience in long-term care nursing required. Teaching experience required or completion of Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) training program required prior to employment. Successful candidate must be approved by IDPH for theory instruction, clinical instruction, Alzheimer's content and be an approved evaluator.

Emphasis on the position will be assisting with the clinical component needs of the LPN and CNA programs.

Oral English proficiency for classroom/clinical instruction is required.
