RESPONSIBILITIES: |
Responsible for the overall administration of the Associate Degree Nursing program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following are duties that are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required or assigned.
• Monitor and review nursing curriculum annually to ensure program outcomes are being met.
• Explore nursing educational trends to ensure relevancy to the clinical setting.
• Prepare the annual budget for the Associate Degree Nursing Program.
• Ensure that the nursing education program and the policies and procedures are in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulatory agencies as well as affiliations such as the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
• Responsible for maintaining written agreements with all clinical facilities utilized.
• Act as the liaison with community health agencies, institutions and/or health groups to keep abreast of community needs.
• Participate in on-going professional development continuing education activities at the state and national level.
• Recruit full and part-time faculty as the need arises, interview prospective faculty and make recommendations to the Dean of Health Sciences.
• Conduct performance evaluations of both full and part-time faculty in the nursing program through classroom and clinical visitations, student evaluations, annual performance objectives, and personal contact with the faculty.
• Recommend teaching assignments to the Dean.
• Participate in tenure and promotional decision processes for faculty.
• Resolve student concerns and grievances with appropriate faculty and administration.
• Market the program, recruit prospective students, advise and coordinate admission of students into the program.
• Demonstrate commitment to the mission of the community college required.
• Assume other responsibilities as directed by the administration of the college. |
